I just watched Terminator Salvation but this post is not about that movie. It's about 3 scifi movies I saw in the previews. Gamer - Set in the future where humans can control other humans in mass-scale, multi-player online gaming environments. Watch Preview. Why didn't I think of this? Such an obvious idea now. I wonder if the players that control the real people realize that it's real. Surrogates - Set in the future where humans live in isolation and interact through surrogate robots - Watch Preview. It seems a logic progression. We have surrogates now online. Some of us take on alternate personalities online even changing genders and of course age. Once robots get advanced enough, it seems the next logical step. This sounds like something Philip K. Dick would have written a novel about. District 9 - An extraterrestrial race forced to live in slum-like conditions on Earth suddenly find a kindred spirit in a government agent that is exposed to their biotechnology. Watch Preview. Reminds me of the movie and TV series Alien Nation except more realistic. Seem like a metaphor for how we treat minorities.
